Visitor Assistance Program

The Visitor Assistance Program (VAP) was created to support visitors who experience unexpected hardships while vacationing in Hawai‘i. Whether facing a medical emergency, theft, loss of belongings, or other unforeseen crises, the program offers compassionate support and guidance. This program is currently offered on Hawai‘i Island, Maui Nui, Kauaʻi, and Oʻahu, ensuring that assistance is available where it is most needed across the state.

More than just a destination, Hawai‘i is a place where the Aloha Spirit is extended to all—even in life’s most difficult moments. Through the VAP, we aim to provide comfort, guidance, and logistical support to ensure visitors are not alone during challenging times.

Core Services Include:

• Coordinating emergency support services, including medical care and law enforcement assistance.
• Offering empathetic guidance and emotional support to visitors in distress.
• Connecting visitors with financial or in-kind resources when available through industry partners.

The VAP is one way we demonstrate that aloha means caring for others—not only when things go right, but especially when they don’t.
